Call for Collaborative workshops
OS FAIR 2025 will give the possibility to selected projects, organisations and initiatives to organise a workshop addressing any of the conference tracks.
OS FAIR 2025 provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of work related to the foundational or more concrete aspects of Open Science: from policy formulation and implementation, infrastructure and service provisioning to turn Open Science into practice, to building and sustaining the human element to support it in the long run.
The OS FAIR 2025 organising committee invites proposals for workshops which may vary between 90 and 180 minutes.
THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS 7TH MAY 2025.
Conference Tracks
Workshops should emphasise current topics of particular interest to the broad community of Open Science based on the conference's tracks. Proposals shall favour and encourage the participation of attendees.

GUIDANCE
Proposers are asked to submit a short abstract (maximum 250 words) that describes all key characteristics and contributions of the workshop:
- Focus
- Relation to the overall objective of the conference
- Target audience
- Learning outcomes
- Format and Structure
- Draft Agenda
- Speakers
- Equipment
- Abstract length should be a minimum of 150 words and should not exceed 250 words.
- The language of the conference will be English; therefore, the abstract must be in this language.
- All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed by the Conference Programme Committee.
EVALUATION
Workshop proposals will be evaluated primarily on their potential to stimulate interesting discussions, facilitate the exchange of ideas, promote collaborations, and contribute to a concrete roadmap for open science implementation.
Additional criteria are:
- Relevance
- Impact on the wider community
- Level of innovation
- Originality
- Interaction with the audience
- Openness and Fairness of the solution / method / product
- Quality and detail of the application form
Applications will be evaluated by the Conference Programme Committee.

We can offer limited travel support for speakers from low and middle income countries. If you are selected and would like to benefit from this support, please reach out to us.

Extended: 7 May, 2025 - Notification of acceptance / rejection: 23 May 2025
- Conference Dates: 15 – 17 September, 2025
Please note that the Open Science Fair 2025 is intended to be an in-person event. We expect all contributors (or their representatives) to be able to attend the conference on the premises.
